ARAMA Member Benefits

Legislation Purchasing Education & Information Industry Networking

1. LEGISLATION

ARAMA keeps members informed with current and proposed legislative issues that affect the industry.

ARAMA prepares submissions and members have the opportunity to raise issues and submit comments and concerns with existing and proposed legislation.

The industry will grow in size and stability with informed input from all stakeholders. ARAMA provides this opportunity for holders of management rights.

ARAMA has representation on Ministerial committees involved in the development and review of legislation. The value of management rights can only be secured with participation in the legislative process.

2. PURCHASING

ARAMA is involved in reducing costs for members. We do this through:

  • printing receipt books, guest registration cards and notices for Traveller Accommodation Providers (Liability) Act for sale to members

  • having an attractive EFTPOS arrangement in place for credit cards and debit cards for MasterCard & Visa along with options of terminals that send funds to both trust and general accounts.

  • offering attractive commission charges on Diners Club cards plus the option of gross settlement for both Diners Club and American Express

  • Directing members to brokers who can provide a combined professional indemnity and public liability insurance package that addresses the issues and risks of the industry.

3. EDUCATION & INFORMATION

  • Seminars and meetings are conducted for members on topics of industry importance

  • Costs and charges surveys are conducted and the results distributed to participants, to keep members informed of trends in costs and charges

  • A Newsletter is published four times each year, providing comment on industry issues

  • A register of relief managers is maintained

  • Training courses are conducted for current and prospective managers on practical industry issues
